            <title>Thank You, Our Great Fans</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Kennesaw, GA -- The season is at an end and the Owls would like to thank all the fans for their support this past season. Kennesaw had a successful year for their first run in ACHA Division 2 and hope for an even better run next season. The team welcomed 12 rookies, underwent a coaching change, competed against some tough competition, and faced ACHA D2 Finalists Indiana into overtime at Regionals. Kennesaw would like to thank Stephen Baxer and Darren Surma for guiding the team this year, and would also like to wish the only graduating senior this year Team Captain #22 Curtis Morrison all the best.<br /><br />Hockey will be off for a couple of months. The next KSU Event will be in July on the 11th, 12th and 13th at the Cooler for the KSU-Junior A camp. This is the 3rd annual Junior A Evaluation Camp the team has done with Sean Carny and NorthStar Junior Hockey. More details to come.]]></description>

            <title>Unfortunate News Takes Atlanta Hockey Community</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Alpharetta, GA -- Some unfortunate news occurred in the Atlanta hockey community. Georgia Tech Head Coach and owner of Hockey Time USA, Greg Stathis, has passed away on Monday. Coach Stathis developed a structured and enjoyable program for Georgia Tech and has been close to the Kennesaw State program. Our thoughts and prayers from all the Kennesaw State Ice Hockey program goes out to Coach Stathis' family and the entire Georgia Tech program.<br /> ]]></description>

            <title>Owls Enter Regionals Against Indiana</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Washington, D.C. -- After a day of travel, the Owls rested in DC to fight in their first regional playoff appearance in ACHA Division II. The game was projected to start on time at 5pm, however a hard fought overtimes with William Paterson and UMBC pushed two games back.<br /><br />At the end of the first period, the Owls tied 1-1 against Indiana University. Kennesaw out shot IU 10 to 8 and killed 2 penalties. KSU's Forward Jerry Holden was the first to put a goal on the board. The teams ended up trading goals at the end of two. The third period was held tight. Indiana scored and held a lead with 20 seconds left. Defenseman Curtis Morrison took a slapshot from the point tying the game. Unfortunately, the Owls fell short in overtime losing 4-3.<br /><br />Kennesaw has one more game in DC around 6pm. The new matchups have not been announced and are delayed until tomorrow.<br /> ]]></description>

            <title>SE Rankings Set, Silent Auction A Go</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Kennesaw, Georgia -- The Southeast Rankings for ACHA Division II have been released and the Owls for their first season in the new division are placed at 7th. This means next week Kennesaw will be facing Indiana at the regional playoffs in Washington, DC.<br /><br />Fans can come out and support the Owls as they push for regional play at the 3rd Annual KSU Ice Owls Silent Auction. This year's auction features some prime items including Airtran Airline tickets, a year's worth of Chick-Fil-A lunches, autographed jerseys, one week cottage and beach getaways and more. Over 30 items will be auctioned off to benefit the team and free food will be provided as well. So on Saturday, February 16 at 6:30pm in the KSU Center, fans are welcome to come out and get their hands in the auction.<br /> ]]></description>

            <title>KSU Skates Strong Against UGA</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Town Center -- Kennesaw returned from their road trip in Ohio to face local rivals the University of Georgia Bulldogs. With the largest turnout of the year, KSU made the night memorable. Team Captain and Defenseman Curtis Morrison was honored by the hockey program with his final home game of his career. #22 has been retired into the books and a commemorative banner was raised in his honor.<br /><br />Tonight, KSU came to play. They jumped on the scoreboard first with 4 unanswered goals in the first, 4 in the second and 4 in the third. The Owls dominated play, keeping major possession even in shorthanded situations. Captain and Forward Jerry Holden led the team with 6 assists and 7 points on the night. Goalie Mike Porter kept played solid only giving up one goal the entire game. KSU won 12-1.<br /><br />The Owls have qualified for Regionals in D.C. and will be playing there on February 22 and 23. With a successful run in regionals the Owls will then move to Fort Myers, FL for the ACHA Division II National Championship.             <title>Disappointing Loss Not Enough to Keep Owls Down</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Oxford, OH -- After the tie Friday night the Owls came back Saturday hoping for
something more. &nbsp;Unfortunately, the Owl's offense was stymied by
penalties throughout the game. &nbsp;The lack of offense resulted in a 5-2
loss for the Owls. &nbsp;Freshmen Drew Baker was the lone goal scorer on the
night, netting two goals on the night. &nbsp;Looking ahead the Owls have
much to be excited about. &nbsp;The Owls have likely secured a spot at this
year's ACHA D2 regional tournament held in Washington D. C., Feb. 22
&amp; 23. &nbsp;<div><br /></div><div>This Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, the
Owls will take on in-state rival The University of Georgia Bull Dogs.
&nbsp;The game starts at 10:00 PM at the Town Center Ice Forum.&nbsp; Pre-game festivities begins with Project 9-6-1 at 9:30pm in the Town Center parking lot. Be prepared
for a fast paced, hard hitting game as the two teams meet up for the

            <title>Owls Jump Up 2 Spots, Tie Miami</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Oxford, OH -- The Owls took to the road and traveled north to Oxford to face Miami of Ohio. Kennesaw competed with Miami and played much of the game on the penalty kill. Miami of Ohio tied KSU late in the third period to preserve a 5-5 overtime tie. Forward Jerry Holden led the goal column with 2 and Defenseman Curtis Morrison, Defenseman Drew Baker and Forward Chris Koutnick all had 1 goal. KSU played the last 12 minutes of the game shorthanded and allowed the tying goal with two men down. Kennesaw will face them again tomorrow night.<br /><br />In other news, the ACHA Division 2 rankings have been posted. Kennesaw jumped two spots to 6th after some big wins against William Paterson University and Florida Gulf Coast.<br /> ]]></description>

            <title>Owls Shutout Wright State</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Town Center -- The Wright State University series continued as the Owls came back after a big 9 to 1 win against the Raiders. Last night, Kennesaw put up a huge performance with points leader on the night #11 Forward Dylan Morrison. Tonight, the spotlight was on Goalie Ryan Repasi as he put up his first shutout of the season and his career as an Owl. Kennesaw dominated shooting with more than 40 shots to WSU's 19. #27 Forward Jerry Holden and #22 Defenseman Curtis Morrison were the only two players to score. KSU won 2-0.<br /><br />Next weekend the Owls travel north to Miami of Ohio and then come back to face the University of Georgia at Town Center at 10pm for the final home game of the season. So mark your calendars for the big local rival so you can come out and cheer on your Owls.<br />]]></description>

            <title>Owls Continue to Advance in D2</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Town Center -- After the Owls had a winning record on their Florida road trip, 2 games to 1, they returned to Town Center to face #8 Ranked Wright State University. WSU won the D3 National Championship the year before Kennesaw took their title and advanced to D2 this year. Kennesaw proved tonight that they were going to be a bigger challenge. <br /><br />The Owls dominated all aspects on the ice. #11 Forward Dylan Morrison earned 7 points on the night with a hat trick and 4 assists. Rookie Goalie Ben Powers again put up a stellar performance only allowing one powerplay goal in the first period. KSU would take the night 9 to 1.<br /><br />Kennesaw will face Wright State again tomorrow night at 10pm at Town Center before traveling to Ohio next weekend. Come out and support the Owls for their second to last home game of the season.<br /> ]]></description>

            <title>Owls Split Weekend With FGCU</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Fort Myers, FL -- The Owls continued their weekend in southern Florida to face the #1 Southeast Ranked Team, Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles. Kennesaw would play them twice and split the series. On Friday, the Owls started poorly in the first period giving up 4 goals to 1. The Owls did not quit and came back in the second to post two unanswered goals. Unfortunately, FGCU maintained their lead winning 6-4.<br /><br />Even though in Kennesaw, snow powdered the city, the Owls were hot in Florida. KSU jumped to a 2 goal lead after the first and never looked back. Kennesaw recorded nine goals as they defeated FGCU for the first time this season. The 9 to 6 victory was the sixth game in 9 days for the Owls. <br /><br />Hockey continues back in Kennesaw as the Owls face #7 Wright State University Raiders on Friday and Saturday night. Come out and support the Owls as they secure their spot in the Division 2 Southeast Regional Playoffs. Both games are at the usual time of 10pm at Town Center. ]]></description>

            <title>A Berry Good Start in Florida</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Rockledge, FL -- The Owls began their first road trip of the new year on a strong note, defeating the University of Central Florida Knights. Kennesaw has a strong history with UCF and proved it again with a 5-3 victory. Forward Jimmy Barry led the team with a hat trick on the night. Defenseman Curtis Morrison and Forward Jerry Holden contributed a goal each. Rookie Goalie Ben Powers has had a strong start with the Owls. His first win was against an infamous William Paterson team and now has his second win as an Owl with 20 saves. KSU came out firing controlling much of the play as the Owls out shot UCF 57 to 23. Kennesaw will be traveling to Fort Myers to face Florida Gulf Coast University, the #1 ranked team in the southeast. The games are both Friday and Saturday at 8:30pm in Germain Arena.  <br /> ]]></description>

            <title>Owls Win Two Before Florida Road Trip</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Town Center -- After a big win for the new year against William Paterson University, Kennesaw played their 3rd and final home game for the week against the University of Tennessee. The Owls already played the Volunteers earlier this season in Knoxville and won skated by with a 3-2 victory. Tennessee came to a packed forum, enhancing this southern rivalry.<br /><br />The Owls dominated play, out shooting and out skating UT. Even though the game did get heated with penalties on both ends, the Owls managed to maintain their composure and put up 8 goals throughout the game. The rookies showed a promising future for Kennesaw. Rookie Forward Mark Barry scored his first collegiate career goal and Rookie Goalie Ben Powers stoned the Volunteers, only allowing 2 goals on the night. <br /><br />KSU begins their road trip in Florida on Thursday facing the Central Florida Knights. They will then travel to Fort Myers to face the #1 Ranked Team in the South, Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles. Unfortunately, the Owls this season tied and lost at home against FGCU, but they have claimed victory in the past. Fans if you can make it Florida for these games, you are guaranteed a show. However, if you can't make it, the Owls will return home to face Wright State University on Friday the 25th and Saturday the 26th at 10pm at Town Center.<br /> ]]></description>

            <title>Owls Pull Out Big Victory Against Pioneers</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Town Center -- After a rough loss at home last night, Kennesaw came to play their second game against William Paterson. A better crowd turned out for the Friday night game, and the Owls were out to get their first win in the new year. KSU proved tonight though that they could compete against higher ranked teams. The Owls scored the first goal only to be matched on a powerplay goal. The game was tight all the way to the end. Some big hits, fast passes and some big goals favored Kennesaw giving a one goal edge in the 3rd period. However, the Pioneers kept the fans on their feet with a pulled goalie with the final minute remaining. William Paterson would not score and the Owls take their first win this year, 4-3.<br /><br />Kennesaw will come back to Town Center tomorrow night at 10pm to face southern rivals, University of Tennessee. The first 100 fans will receive a shirt courtesy of Pinnacle Orthopedics. Also, those who choose to come early to the Ice Forum Public Skate Session prior to the game will receive free admission to the game. So come out and see this southern rivalry.&nbsp; ]]></description>

            <title>Owls Fall Short In The 3rd</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Town Center -- Kennesaw returned to Town Center to start the semester to begin their 3 games at home. The Owls will be facing some large matchups in January, first with William Paterson University. KSU began the game strong, leading WPU 2-1 at the end of the first. William Paterson would tie and then push to lead in the 3rd period. Kennesaw will return again on Friday at 10pm to have another game against WPU. Fans are welcome to Ice Forum and purchase a Public Skate session prior to the game. All entries to the session will be admitted to the game for free. This promotion will continue into Saturday for the Tennessee game as well. Don't forget on Saturday the first 100 fans will receive a free shirt courtesy of Pinnacle Orthopedics.<br /> ]]></description>

            <title>Three Games in Three Nights</title>
            <description><![CDATA[Town Center -- The Owls are off to their second half of the season and open against some tough competition. The month of January features big contenders including William Paterson, Florida Gulf Coast, Tennessee and Wright State University. Kennesaw will open this week against William Paterson on Thursday and Friday and then face Tennessee on Saturday. These games will set the pace for the rest of the season.<br /><br />Fans will have the opportunity to see some new skaters on the ice for the second half including Mark Barry, Nick North, Drew Baker and Ben Powers. On Saturday, the first 100 fans will receive a free shirt courtesy of Pinnacle Orthopedics Group.<br /><br />So make it out this week to all the 3 games, Thursday through Saturday at 10pm at Town Center.<br /> ]]></description>
