Wooster, Ohio -- After a heartbreaking overtime loss to Indian in last year's regional tournament, the Owls came out to this year's tournament seeking victory. Kennesaw (#9) would play UMBC (#4) for the first round. UMBC opened strong scoring the first goal. However, KSU would bounce back, take the lead and keep it through the whole game. Kennesaw goals were scored by Jerry Holden (2), Hunter Gahl (2), Rick Lirette (2), Sean Bernhardt and Chris Koutnik. Goalie Ben Powers held UMBC to 5 goals. The Owls advance to the next round of regionals defeating UMBC 8 to 5.
