KSU Skates Strong Against UGA

Town Center -- Kennesaw returned from their road trip in Ohio to face local rivals the University of Georgia Bulldogs. With the largest turnout of the year, KSU made the night memorable. Team Captain and Defenseman Curtis Morrison was honored by the hockey program with his final home game of his career. #22 has been retired into the books and a commemorative banner was raised in his honor.

Tonight, KSU came to play. They jumped on the scoreboard first with 4 unanswered goals in the first, 4 in the second and 4 in the third. The Owls dominated play, keeping major possession even in shorthanded situations. Captain and Forward Jerry Holden led the team with 6 assists and 7 points on the night. Goalie Mike Porter kept played solid only giving up one goal the entire game. KSU won 12-1.

The Owls have qualified for Regionals in D.C. and will be playing there on February 22 and 23. With a successful run in regionals the Owls will then move to Fort Myers, FL for the ACHA Division II National Championship. Keep posted with the latest scores here on KSU Ice Hockey.com.
