Town Center -- After a big win for the new year against William Paterson University, Kennesaw played their 3rd and final home game for the week against the University of Tennessee. The Owls already played the Volunteers earlier this season in Knoxville and won skated by with a 3-2 victory. Tennessee came to a packed forum, enhancing this southern rivalry.
The Owls dominated play, out shooting and out skating UT. Even though the game did get heated with penalties on both ends, the Owls managed to maintain their composure and put up 8 goals throughout the game. The rookies showed a promising future for Kennesaw. Rookie Forward Mark Barry scored his first collegiate career goal and Rookie Goalie Ben Powers stoned the Volunteers, only allowing 2 goals on the night.
KSU begins their road trip in Florida on Thursday facing the Central Florida Knights. They will then travel to Fort Myers to face the #1 Ranked Team in the South, Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles. Unfortunately, the Owls this season tied and lost at home against FGCU, but they have claimed victory in the past. Fans if you can make it Florida for these games, you are guaranteed a show. However, if you can't make it, the Owls will return home to face Wright State University on Friday the 25th and Saturday the 26th at 10pm at Town Center.
