Fort Myers, FL -- The Owls continued their weekend in southern Florida to face the #1 Southeast Ranked Team, Florida Gulf Coast University Eagles. Kennesaw would play them twice and split the series. On Friday, the Owls started poorly in the first period giving up 4 goals to 1. The Owls did not quit and came back in the second to post two unanswered goals. Unfortunately, FGCU maintained their lead winning 6-4.
Even though in Kennesaw, snow powdered the city, the Owls were hot in Florida. KSU jumped to a 2 goal lead after the first and never looked back. Kennesaw recorded nine goals as they defeated FGCU for the first time this season. The 9 to 6 victory was the sixth game in 9 days for the Owls.
Hockey continues back in Kennesaw as the Owls face #7 Wright State University Raiders on Friday and Saturday night. Come out and support the Owls as they secure their spot in the Division 2 Southeast Regional Playoffs. Both games are at the usual time of 10pm at Town Center.
